I also went and rode the good horses again today! Poco is a 3 year old app filly who will be going in Oct to the Appaloosa Cutting Horse Futurity and she is amazing to ride as far as training goes. . she stops on a dime when she feels any pressure at all on the reins and will turn with just foot pressure alone. My only gripe with her is she is so hard to get into a quicker pace other than a walk and when you do get her going in a trot or a lope it is ruff!! But then you have 'lectric Nic... Nic is awesome. He is a 2 year old out of the "Smart Little Lena" line and man can he move! He just stretches out just a little and it is smooth as silk... and will do anything you ask of him as long as he understands what it is you are asking of him... I mean after all he is only a baby still!!
Then... we are going to have a b-day surprise party for my grandma who turned 97 today!! Man if I am still doing as good as her on my 70th birthday I'll be happy... she still cooks for herself, cleans her house with a little help from a housing service and my mom, and runs around the yard picking up pecans and gardening!! WOW... Okay so she isn't exactly a spring chicken as the phrase goes but she is still in good health as far as that goes and still decently able to take care of herself with limited assistance!
Well I gotta jet... Party people shoulld be getting here soon (aunts and uncles) and my mom is needing some help in the kitchen getting stuff ready to go!
