My Skip - GTH Farewell

 

So yesterday we had a farewell (retirement) for the wonderful lady pictured above with me... This is Skip O, the receptionist at my Tacoma office for the last 27 years (and the face that welcomed me first to the company just shy of a year ago). 

I cannot express how disappointed and saddened I was by her abrupt departure last month without a word, even though I do understand her desire to leave without fanfare. It was hard to come in expecting her wonderful voice and smile greeting me as I walked out of the elevators, only to discover that her final day was the previous one. She has been missed as I walk around the building doing my work since I could always count on her quick smile as I walked past her desk... So seeing her yesterday was so wonderful and then receiving the photo from her this morning that showed her pretty smile made my day!!

BTW - the expression was of her asking how baby was and being so excited that everything was still going really well... such a beautiful lady inside and out!!!
