Well lets see. . I am finally in Hawaii and it is great!!!
Just a catch up. . .
Flight went great. We left from Dulles (VA) at 8:30am the 26th of Oct and landed in Denver for a hour lay over around 10am local time. . then off to Hawaii. We landed in Honolulu at 3:30pm local time and had to walk around trying to find out how to get to where we were to be met at- Talk about Crazy!! But we finally found Renee and Ray, got all of our baggage, picked up Mimic, dropped everything off at Tripler Guest housing, and got outta there to grab some food at Chili's. I think we were back in the guest housing and asleep by about 10ish. . . talk about crazy!! That was a crazy day!! Oh. . but it was cool when we were landing and I wish I could have gotten to my damned camera cause there was this great big rainbow perfectly centered over Tripler (Big Pink Palace) kinda like welcoming us into paradise!! It was very pretty!!
First two whole days we were actually in state we didn't really do a whole lot considering we had no damned car. . so we depended on the kindness of friends to come and visit and take us around. . (Jess- THANK YOU!!) but J did get all signed into Base, not into the unit because there was game underfoot about that crap!!
After that it was only a matter of getting our asses in gear cause we had to have loco-motion to get around and check out this wonderful new world we were in! WE RENTED A CAR!!
We had the car rented for about 5 days and checked out about half the island while looking for a car to purchase inbetween cruising the streets and finally ended up buying an Isuzu Amigo "My Friend" that is actually a pretty good little island car. We also got to met up with some of J's family that he hardly even knows and have been visiting with them on the weekends!!
