Nathanial Tyler: 10th and 11th month

So here I am, behind yet again - I hate how easy it is to fall behind!
The last two months have been entertaining and HOT! We have been surviving the heat well enough I would say, we do have a portable A/C unit in the bedroom but doesn't keep up all the time nor does it help with the rest of the house so we make do with window fans (and ceiling fans). I bought Nathan a pool - it's kinda neat cause it's got a "shade" over hang and a sprinkler setup - great for baby... and momma too! We tried it one day and while it wasn't a huge success with Nathan (he cried unless I was in there with him) he did at least start to play after a while and seemed to enjoy himself at least some. Of course it seemed to cool off some since purchasing the pool and so we haven't really tried to play in it again since - maybe this coming weekend since it'll be in the high 80's again.
Work has finally started tapering off with the insanity... which has made for a much calmer momma - but it was pretty dicey for a while! Luckily he waited until after the worst was over to start teething again - so now we've got 4 teeth and looks like 4 more are trying to pop through!! Yikes! Poor guy has been pretty grouchy over them - can't you tell?

He had his first experience with Fireworks and mud... One I think he loved, the other went about as well as the pool but without momma there to help smooth it over! LOL

He's mastered standing... ON EVERYTHING!! He's also mastered going from standing to sitting (or picking something up off the ground while standing) instead of just falling on his butt... so no more baths without worrying that he'll try to stand up and bust his head! He's also learned that he can "walk" all the way around the area that is his play area holding onto something - so he goes from the TV to the ottoman using his bouncy chair/bed thing, then from ottoman to couch with the aid of the footstool, then he'll use his exersaucer to make his way from the end of the couch to the swivel chair... and sometime he'll use his play mat to balance against, but usually he just goes back to the ottoman... It's cute!
Speaking of walking... this weekend he got his very first pair of shoes!!

In order for him to transition to the next room in Daycare, he has to have shoes/socks and a jacket with him ... so we went shopping over the weekend to find him a pair of shoes. Ended up getting Striderite soft soles - they are super flexible soled but the rubber sole will still protect his little feet from everything. I think the next pair will be a pair of Nike's that we saw in JCP though, not quite as soft or flexible but I liked the look of them a lot more.

I still can't believe he's old enough to be getting ready to transition - goodness.. ALMOST 1!

We got some photos taken late in the month of May that came out BEAUTIFUL!!!

He still loves to terrorize the dogs...

Still likes to sleep with daddy for naps...

Still loves his baths...

Still loves to play on my computer (when I'll let him)...

All in all... still my happy little boy!!

Next month will be very busy... He'll have his first plane right (going to Texas to stay with grandma and grandpa while momma and daddy go to Cabo), first time to get to see cousins/aunts/uncles, first time away from momma and daddy both for more than 24hrs, first time in Texas, first time seeing/riding a horse, first birthday... oh the things we'll get into next month! And the fun doesn't stop when we come back mid-month, because the other grandma (along with hubby's youngest brother and the sister-in-law) will be coming up to hang out for a week at the end of the Aug beginning of Sept...

Nathanial Tyler: 9th month

I'm behind... I know... There is just so much to do these days that I feel like I don't have time for it all, nevermind keep everyone posted on various social media outlets (which I don't really do publically since I kinda have this stance against too much photo sharing).

But here we go...

This last month has brought about my 34th birthday and 1st mother's day with a child earth side...  I got roses for my birthday and then hubby made breakfast (french toast, YUMM) then we had dinner out for Mother's day. Not really what I was expecting to happen for either event but I'm not displeased either since I'm not really all that big on "ME" if that makes sense. Some people have to have a whole month to celebrate their birthday, I'm happy if someone just says the words usually around the day... my dad has for as long as I could remember sang "Happy Birthday" to me first thing in the morning, and he continues to call me every year and break into song. Anyways... it was nice though...

So now back to Nathan...
So little boy has been learning to sign for a few months now, he's got the sign for "cereal" down pat and I think has finally started learning that it draws a reaction so he's learning to associate it with his puffs... he's been off and on about "milk", "eat" and "more" signs but has been getting to use them a little more regular, "milk" not as much since he doesn't really drink a lot of milk at daycare (he's off bottles almost entirely, which is annoying - thank god for his sippy though) so it's really up to me to have him associate that word with something. He has started to do "more" frequently when he eats at home, so I think he's associating it as well. It's just really amazing how their little brains develop.

His interest in the dogs increases every day I think... he loves them and get so excited to see them and even more excited when he interacts with them... doesn't even matter if it's our dogs or friends dogs - I can't wait to see how he reacts to horses!!!!

He's also getting really mobile and grabby - his method of mobility is scooting around on his butt, he still refuses to try to crawl! And if it's in his line of sight he's going to try and grab it be it a toy, cup, or clump of dog hair.. LOL

Speaking of mobile... he's been bouncing and pulling up on furniture but never really making it all the way to a full stand position - - - - till last night, little boy managed to not just pull up on something, but he just straight up stood up! He managed to get his little legs under him somehow (I was eating dinner so not paying full attention at first), put both chubby little hands on top of the foot stool in front of me and up he came. and he never really pulled with his hands - they seemed to just be there for balance kinda. He was so proud of himself!

He's also really started to love his bath time... specially now that momma adds in bubbles!

He loves his turtle night light... it's usually a way to distract him while I'm trying to get myself ready for bed when he's super tired... but it works great for him just playing too...

now... here's just some random photos and videos!

Look out... he thinks he can drive!
